Meet the Panelists
Todd Woloson
Todd Woloson has been a Managing Director of Greenmont Capital Partners II since 2008 and currently represents the fund on the Board of Madhava Natural Sweeteners. Previously he represented Greenmont on the boards of Uncle Matt’s Organics, Door-to-Door Organics, and EcoProducts. Before joining Greenmont, Todd co-founded IZZE Beverage Company and served as President and CEO until its sale to PepsiCo in 2006. He began his career with the Department of Energy working in civil nuclear policy and with Soil Recycling Technologies, Inc., an environmental cleanup company based in Denver. After graduating from law school in 1994, he completed an environmental service rollup and co-founded Canyon Capital, an early-stage venture fund. Around that time in 1998, Todd also co-founded Global Education Fund, a non-profit organization improving access to education for children in 22 countries. In 2014, he co-founded the GEF Innovation Fund (now Girl Rising), a non-profit venture fund supporting women social entrepreneurs in India, Africa, and Guatemala. Todd currently sits on the board of directors of NuMilk, an on-premise nut milk machine and the Clean Label Project, a non-profit organization working to remove industrial and environmental contaminants from our food system. Mr. Woloson has been a frequent speaker and panel participant in many industry events and trade shows and was a recipient of the 2003 Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst & Young. He was a trustee of Naropa University, received a B.A. degree from St. Lawrence University and a J.D. from the University of Denver Law School.
Sam Kressler
Sam runs Stir Consulting, an innovation, commercialization, and product and recipe development firm for the organic foods and cannabis/hemp industries. Sam helps companies bring their products to market from ideation through scale-up to steady state production, with a focus on flavor-first and ultra-clean label development. Prior to Stir, Sam spent several years at Boulder Brands where he oversaw commercialization for all Evol, Glutino and Udi’s innovation and renovation projects. Sam comes to this work as a classically trained development chef with extensive experience in both Culinary and CPG and hold a Masters in Food Systems from NYU.
Brandon Hernandez
Brandon Hernandez is a Senior Partner at Whole Brain Consulting, which operates nationally out of its two offices in Colorado and Chicago. After earning his degree in Biology from Colorado State University (Go Rams! – Please don’t hold it against me, Boulder!), Brandon began his career in food safety at Zateca Foods (now Teasdale Latin Foods). He spent a number of years working his way through the operational, research and development, supply chain, and quality assurance aspects of food manufacturing, and now plans to use those skills in the Boulder community. Brandon enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, snowboarding, and playing soccer. He looks forward to serving the Naturally Colorado community to the best of his ability for years to come.
Mike Gross
Mike has been in the food industry for more than 30 years in Food Safety, Quality, Product Scale-up, and Research & Development. During this time, he has developed and deployed SQF, FSMA and HACCP food safety certification schemes at numerous companies and locations for both manufacturing and restaurant chains. Additionally, he has overseen the roll out of numerous preserved standards of identities such as Kosher, Gluten Free, Non-GMO, Organic, Paleo, Vegan, Whole Grain and Monkey Free. Mike currently serves as the V.P of Food Safety and Quality Assurance at Fresca Foods. Mike has a degree in Food Science from Colorado State University and enjoys making his own wine and smoking great cuts of meat.
