Steven Hoffman
Steven Hoffman is Founder and Managing Director of Compass Natural, a Boulder, CO-based agency providing brand marketing, PR, social media, and strategic business development services to natural, organic, sustainable and hemp/CBD products businesses. Compass Natural serves in PR and programming for NoCo Hemp Expo and Southern Hemp Expo — the leading trade shows and conferences in the hemp industry — and Hoffman serves as Editor of the weekly Let’s Talk Hemp Newsletter, published by We are for Better Alternatives. Steve also served as Education Director for Natural Products Expo East and West, the world’s largest natural and organic products trade expositions, and as Editorial Director of New Hope Network’s highly respected natural products trade publishing division, including the Natural Foods Merchandiser magazine. Hoffman also served as National Marketing Director and Rocky Mountain Regional Sales Manager for Arrowhead Mills, now a leading division of the Hain-Celestial Group. As Managing Director of The Organic Center, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization, Hoffman helped advance scientific research and education behind the benefits of organic food and farming. He received a M.S. in Agriculture from Pennsylvania State University. Hoffman is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served in agriculture and education in Honduras and Costa Rica in Central America.
Chad Rosen
Chad is an entrepreneur who is passionate about developing impact-based businesses with sustainable supply chains. Chad moved from California in 2014 and put down roots in Northern Kentucky, where Victory Hemp Foods is based. A graduate of the Village Capital Agricultural Accelerator, his network in the food system is far-reaching at high levels in the private and public sectors. The White House invited Chad to represent Kentucky and Victory Hemp Foods at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Palo Alto, where he met with POTUS’s Entrepreneurial Ambassadors and 700 other entrepreneurs from 170 countries to work on solving for some of the world most pressing issues here at home and abroad, including food security. Chad is dedicated to bringing hemp into the rural economy where sustainable economic development is a priority.
Kelly Shea
Kelly Shea is the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Corporate Communications at Charlotte’s Web (CW), the market leader in hemp CBD extract products. In this role, Kelly has oversight of CW’s Government Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Communications and Customer Education departments. Her day-to-day responsibilities include: aligning the company’s business goals with both state and federal policies with the goal of continuing Charlotte’s Web’s mission; ensuring that CW products pay respect to the planet and support local and global communities; educating the media, the hemp industry, lawmakers and consumers about the vast health and wellness potential of century-old hemp.Kelly has cultivated nearly 30 years of agricultural industry experience. Her sustainability expertise is informed by the time she has spent in boots on the farm and heels on Capitol Hill. She recently transitioned her off-duty energy into starting a foundation that addresses the intersection between climate change and communities, faith and farming.

John is founder of Summit Venture Management based in Boulder, Colorado. Summit consults and partners with entrepreneurs and investors on brand and business growth initiatives.John has over 30 years of experience as a marketing and strategy executive in the consumer products world. His executive leadership experience includes over 15 years in food manufacturing, multi-channel retail, and contract manufacturing. As well, he has over 15 years of experience in business and brand growth strategy consulting – most recently as Managing Partner of Sterling-Rice Group (SRG) in Boulder, Colorado. At SRG he served on the company board of directors, was a corporate officer, and ran the research, strategy, and innovation competencies. He led client growth and innovation assignments for a range of private equity owned brands, natural and organic brands as well as for global leaders in CPG including, Annie’s Homegrown, Atkins Nutritionals, Bolthouse, Bayer AG, Boulder Brands, Campbell’s, Johnson & Johnson/McNeil, Mars/Masterfood, Nestlé, and Unilever. John began his consulting career at Bain & Company.
