The daily toll of creating or running a business drives many emotions. One we don’t often talk about is fear. Even if it is unconscious, fear can impact your business’s performance and your performance as a leader. Join us to learn a bit more about the neuroscience of fear and how you can work with it intellectually, emotionally and physically in your role as a leader.

Meet the Panelists

Ben Fenton
Ben Fenton serves as the Board’s treasurer and focuses on annual events. He is currently a Partner at Boulder based BFG Partners, a food and beverage focused venture capital firm. Prior to moving to Boulder in March 2014, Ben spent nearly 10 years living in New York City where he worked for UBS, Morgan Stanley, Oak Hill Advisors and Hutchin Hill Capital. Originally from Philadelphia, Ben went to Duke University with both of his brothers, all three of whom played for the Varsity Men’s Lacrosse Team. Ben currently lives in Boulder with his dog Ellie.

Stephen Cowan
Stephen is a software sales professional turned plant entrepreneur. He is the founder of Microtea, a superfood tea powered by microgreens, and Connected Culture, a plant research and education 501(c)(3).

Susan Skjei
​Over the last 25 years Susan has worked with thousands of leaders in the US, Canada and Europe to cultivate mindfulness and authenticity, strengthen relational skills, and effectively lead the changes they want to see in their organizations and in the world. Formerly a Vice President and Chief Learning Officer and an international consultant, Susan is currently the director of the Authentic Leadership Center at Naropa University which trains and empowers current and next generation leaders to act as catalysts for positive organizational and social change.​ She is an enthusiastic supporter of Naturally Colorado and has facilitated a variety of programs for members in the last 5 years.

HOW DO ONLINE EVENTS WORK?

Participants will be able to see and hear the presenters, but participants’ cameras won’t be on, and their mics will be muted. Participants will be able to type questions via the Chat box. A moderator will direct the panel discussion.

While you can access Zoom via your computer’s browser (Chrome is preferred) without creating an account, you may have a better experience if you download the Zoom interface to your computer and log into your free account. The Zoom app is also available for your smartphone. Note that the quality of the Webinar will fluctuate both based on your internet connection and that of the presenters.
