Packaging the Future: EPR & Beyond

Sustainable Packaging is one of the hottest topics in today’s CPG environment; and specifically the newly introduced EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) laws. Oregon was the first state to implement the program and now Colorado is next on drafting the state’s own EPR.

While over 60-countries globally have already established their own sustainable packaging programs, here locally the “Producer Responsibility Program for Statewide Recycling Act” as it’s called by Colorado’s Department of Public Health & Environment has been working on these laws since 2023 and are taking effect this year.

To help us better understand the list of materials covered by EPR as well as the impact it had on each one of us, Naturally Colorado is hosting an education event where both How2Recycle and The Circular Action Alliance will speak to the latest details available.
