“THE TRUTH ABOUT FOOD”

The Truth About Food is a short, compelling documentary about bridging the divide between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’ of the natural food world. This film focuses on giving a voice to those people who feel outside the natural food world, looking in, and how they can be reached. This segment is indeed growing and very much wants to connect with young brands.

The Truth About Food premiered at Esca Bona 2017 in Austin and we are fortunate to share it with our Naturally Colorado community and beyond. It will be presented by the founders of Boulder Strategy House, Ashley Alsup, Chief Strategist and Kim Johnson, Chief Documentarian. A robust Q&A with the filmmakers will follow!

Donna Munip
Metro Caring is Denver’s frontline anti-hunger organization. The organization builds equity by Nourishing Neighbors, Providing Tools to Thrive, and Fostering Community. Donna has been working as CFO/COO of Metro Caring for slightly over 8 months. She has worked in many other non-profits over the past 20 years, focusing on everything from the environment, community activation, youth, and now food security.
‘My approach to work and to life is from a concept of fairness and equity for all; access to nutritious food being a basic human right. My initial interest in Metro Caring’s work was the focus on this basic human right – access to food. Delving deeper into Metro Caring’s mission, and understanding the programs more, I was, and continue to be, encouraged by the emphasis on attempting to solve the root causes of lack of access to good food. ‘Ending Hunger at its Root’ as the tag line and being an anti-hunger organization is much broader and deeper than first envisaged, resulting in a stronger impact overall.’
Donna has an MBA from Rutgers State University of New Jersey. She has lived in the Denver area for over 16 years and enjoys running and hiking with her family. She is also a qualified massage therapist.
