Volunteer Event at A Precious Child

The Donation Center at A Precious Child accepts new and gently used clothing, hygiene products, baby essentials, essential home goods, and other items to benefit the families we support. On average, we receive 3,178 pounds of donations every day! Volunteers are an integral part of the team, helping us get all donations ready to distribute to children and caregivers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Help sort through incoming donations and categorize items by type
• Conduct a quality check on clothing items to ensure they’re in re-wearable condition (no rips, stains, tears, broken zippers, etc.)
• Place clothing items onto hangers and organize them by size
• Assist with bundling other miscellaneous items (diapers, accessories, shoes, etc.)
• Communicate well with staff and other volunteers

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Volunteers ages 5-12 are able to volunteer with an adult
• Volunteers ages 13 and up are able to volunteer on their own
• Must wear close-toed shoes for every shift
• Act in a respectful and appropriate manner to cultivate a family-friendly environment
• Have a friendly and welcoming demeanor toward clients, volunteers, donors, and staff
• Respect and maintain the confidentiality of A Precious Child clients, volunteers, partners, and donors

Parking & Arrival: Free parking is available in our lot and along W 118th Ave. Please enter through Unit 6, our Volunteer Center, to check-in for your shift.

Attire: All volunteers are required to wear closed-toed shoes. We also recommend dressing for the weather, as our warehouse temperature can vary as garages doors may be open.

2. Sign In if you’ve volunteered with us before OR create Account if you’re a new volunteer at A Precious Child. Your join code is: NATURALLYCO

3. Once you have created your account or logged in, you will be re-directed to your groups volunteer event; click the red “Sign Up” button to register for your preferred role in our Donation Center or Store. If the site doesn’t redirect you just click the hyperlink in step-one to get to your team’s specific volunteer shift.

4. Review our Volunteer Authorization, Waiver, and Release Form and accept that you understand.

5. Congrats – your registration is complete!
